VALLEY OF FLOWERS TOURS

Tour to Valley of Flowers. You must hear about the fairyland in your childhood and want to visit it one day. Valley of flowers is like a fairy-land situated high in the Himalayas of the Uttaranchal Pradesh at an altitude of 3,600 mt. above sea level. Spread over an area of 87.5 sq. km is at an altitude of 3250 mt. You will enjoy your trekking in the valley protected by snowy mountains and beautiful landscapes. The bloom starts immediately after the snow melting with the advent of summer. More than 300 species of flowers bloom here unconstrained by mankind. The colorful shades of the valley have attracted lots of travelers across the world.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrive Delhi

On arrival, you will be greeted and assisted by our representative and transferred to the hotel.

On arrival in the hotel, check-in (Rooms will be available from 1200 hrs). In its 3000 years of existence; seven cities have risen where the present capital of India stands. Here you'll encounter a fascinating blend of the ancient and the contemporary. Where government buildings, medieval palaces, and bazaars exist beside a modern metropolis. Delhi is a city waiting to be explored.

Overnight at the Hotel.

Day 2 - Delhi - Leh

Early morning we transfer to the airport to connect flight to Leh, the capital of Ladakh, also famous as "Small Tibet", lying at an altitude of 3500m in a fertile valley of the Indus river. Half-day free for acclimatizing. After lunch drive to visit Sankar Gompa & Shanti Stupa. Later walk up to Leh Palace and walk around the local market.

Overnight in the hotel.

Day 3 - Delhi - Rishikesh

After breakfast drive to Rishikesh. After a 4 hrs drive, you reach Haridwar, one of the 7 holy cities of India. Hindu devotees come here from all parts of India. No flesh and alcohol are allowed. Further drive to Rishikesh, where according to a legend lived Bharat, brother of God Rama. Arrival in Rishikesh and rooms distribution in hotel Inderlok. Afternoon walk through the city. You see the Laxman Jhula (hanging bridge) and different Hindu Temples. If the time allows a visit to an Ashram.

Dinner and overnight in the hotel.

Day 4 - Rishikesh - Uttarkashi

After breakfast leaves Rishikesh with a cook who will be accompanying us throughout the whole stretch. Our drive goes through the magnificent mountain landscapes. With the arrival in Tehri, you find yourself at the height of 770m. There is a huge project going on to generate electricity out of Ganga river water. Tehri was the former capital of princely state Garhwal. And not to forget the picturesque villages.

Arrival in Uttarkashi in the evening. Our cook will take care of our dinner. Overnight in Tourist Bungalow.

Day 5 - Uttarkashi - Gangotri

After breakfast further drive via Bhatwari, Sukhi, Harsil to Gangotri. En-route there are some high passes to cross. Late afternoon arrival in Gangotri (3048m), rooms distribution in Tourist Bungalow.

According to a legend river, Ganga comes from heaven at this place. The main temple was built by Amar Singh Thapa in 18. Century. The rest of the day roaming around the place. You see different Ashrams and observe the pilgrims during their ceremony in temples and their baths in the ice-cold water of the holy river.

Dinner and overnight in Tourist Bungalow.

Day 6 - Gangotri - Bhujibasa

After breakfast begins the wandering to the origin of Ganga. You need to carry only your film equipment and tea bottle for the 2 ½ days excursion. The rest of the baggage will be carried by the porters. After half a stretch the cook will be ready with lunch.

Arrival in Bhujibasa.

It is situated at a height of 3600m. overnight in Tourist Bangalow or camps surrounded by the snow covering mountains.

Day 7 - Bhujibasa - Gaumuk

After breakfast further trekking. After 3 hrs you will reach the origin of Ganga. You spend some time at the Glacier of Gaumukh which means "mouth of a cow". It is believed that the tough road to Ganga origin prevents the Hindu devotees from 1million rebirth. Here you see the pilgrims of every age filling their bottles with the holy water and taking baths in ice-cold water.

Afternoon return to Bhujibasa. Dinner and overnight in tourist bungalow / camps.

Day 8 - Bhujibasa - Gangotri - Uttarkashi

After breakfast back to Gangotri. Lunch in tourist bungalow in Gangotri. Finally, drive to Uttarkashi. En-route stop at a hot water spring to take a bath.

Day 9 - Uttarkashi - Guptakashi

After breakfast drive to Guptakashi through the wonderful mountain landscapes , rice fields , river valleys and beautiful villages. Guptkashi TourEn-route the lunch will be taken care of. After 8-9 hrs constant drive arrival in Guptakshi.

Dinner and overnight in tourist bungalow.

Day 10 - Guptakashi

The whole day you will spend on this 1300m high place, where you stroll through the gardens and visit small temples. Enjoy the panorama, the location is very wonderful.

Day 11 - Guptakashi - Badrinath

After breakfast drive to Badrinath. En-route lunch packets.

Later afternoon arrival in Badrinath (3180m), one of the 4 most holy pilgrimages of Hindus, surrounded by Nar and Narayan mountains. Dinner and overnight in tourist bungalow.

Day 12 - Badrinath

The whole day you spend in Badrinath. If the weather allows, you see the impressive high mountains with snow covering hilltops. Each of them seems to be sky-high.

Early noon a small stoll to Neelkanth valley. The scenic beauty is worth seeing.

For lunch back to your bungalow. The rest of the day is free for exploring the surroundings.

Day 13 - Badrinath - Govindgath - Ghangaria

Today drive to Govindghat. From here on the rest of the distance to Ghangaria by feet. En-route you can see many pilgrims Hindus and Sikhs moving towards holy Hem Kund Lake.

Arrival in Ghangaria (3048m) in the afternoon after 5 hrs walk, where the camps will be ready for you. Dinner and overnight.

Day 14 - Badrinath - Govindgath - Ghangaria

Early morning to the "valley of flowers", a stretch of 5 km with an ascent of 600m. After crossing many small rivers you find yourself in the famous valley , which got its name from the Kamet-Expedition in 1931, as they discovered this valley during a snow storm. In every season many colourful flowers blossom here. The whole day you will spend here. For lunch you get lunch packets.

The legend connects the Valley of Flowers with the Goddess Laxmi from the epic Ramayana: once Laxmi was sitting meditating at the bank of Lokpal lake. She was attacked by Meghana and got badly wounded. It was the Sanjivni Booti that healed her wounds.

There is also the grave of Margret Legge, who collected and cataloged the flowers in 1939.

Evening return to Ghangaria. Dinner and overnight.

Day 15 - Ghangaria - Govindghat - Joshimat

After breakfast departure to Govindghat (12km), and from there further, drive to Joshimath (30km).

Joshimath Dinner and overnight in tourist bungalow.

Day 16 - Joshimat - Rishikesh

After breakfast drive to Rishikesh. Lunch in Srinagar is planned.

The further leads to Deoprayag, where the rivers Alaknanda and Baghirati fall in the Ganga river.

Evening arrival in Rishikesh.

Dinner and overnight in Inderlok Hotel.

Day 17 - Rishikesh - Delhi

Drive to Delhi. Around noon arrival in Delhi. Check-in in the hotel. The rest of the day is free for shopping or relaxation.

Dinner and overnight in Delhi.

Day 18 - Delhi Departure

Early morning transfer to airport and return flight to Home.
